A day with the Neath Ospreys

On Sunday 4th November 23 pupils went down to the Neath Ospreys for a day of rugby. We arrived at their indoor training base in Llandarcy and changed for an hours training with the Ospreys coaching staff. The session was run by Garin Jenkins, capped 59 times for Wales, he was joined by Wales and British Lion, Ryan Jones. The boys had a general warm up and then split into forwards and backs, various areas of play were discussed and practiced. After rugby, everybody had lunch at the centre and then boarded the bus to move down to the Liberty Stadium to watch the Ospreys play London Irish. The Ospreys played some exciting rugby and won the game 51-16, scoring the majority of points in the second half.

The day was a fantastic experience for the squad, having input from an ex and  current international, with British Lions experience, was a great plus for the rest of the season, major thanks must go to Paul Thorburn, who helped set up the day, Garin Jenkins, Ryan Jones and the staff who went along for the day.
